Our Story

Oh heyyyy and welcome to Kards for the Kulture! My name is Kendra, known to some as K Mills. I’m a Houston native but wanderer at heart. I find my greatest sense of fulfillment through creative expression, so ultimately entertainment is my way of spreading light and love. Prior to Miss Rona’s arrival, I was working full time as a flight attendant and journeying through life at the same pace as my carry-on! But, for the first time in a very long time, I was being forced to sit with myself, my feelings, my thoughts, my fears. There was nowhere to go, nowhere to be and I absolutely hated it… at first. ‘Lockdown 2020’ and all its chaos forced me to rely on my creative side for a sense of solace.

Kards for the Kulture came about from the lack of representation in greeting cards. I’d spend an eternity reading through cards that didn’t really capture my voice or my experience. Not to mention how I was lucky to find anything created for black people at all! It was then that I decided to be the change that I wanted to see. The seed for this business was sown years ago but it wasn’t until ‘Lockdown 2020’ that I was able to dust off the cobwebs and bring KFTK to life. I had no idea what I was doing, I just decided to start with what I had and grow from there. In the spirit of transparency, I STILL don’t know what I’m doing (LOL) but creating these ‘kards’ has been therapeutic and I am so very grateful that you’ve chosen to join me on the journey! THIS IS JUST THE BEGINNING! Thank you for your support and for allowing me to share in celebrating the people you love with Kards for the Kulture! #GetKultured
